International Conference on Payments and Settlement
The Deutsche Bundesbank hosted its first International Conference on Payments and Settlement on 9 and 10 September 2015. About eighty researchers, central bank analysts and practitioners from all over the world joined the conference to discuss the most recent studies and to learn about developments, challenges, and risks for payments and settlement.
In six research sessions selected topics covering general aspects of payment systems, simulation of payment systems, models of the money market in changing environments, CCPs and collateral, interbank networks, and risks in financial market infrastructures were presented and discussed. Additionally, a seventh session contributed the view of practitioners on intraday liquidity and real time payment systems.
The program was rounded out by a keynote speech delivered by Bundesbank President Jens Weidmann, remarks by Carl-Ludwig Thiele, Member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Bundesbank, and by Dirk Schrade, Deputy Head of the Payments and Settlement Systems Department.
