Research Data

One of the Bundesbank's tasks is to collect monetary, financial and external sector statistical data, comprehensive sets of indicators and seasonally adjusted business statistics. For macroeconomic analysis relevant data are then fed into the macroeconomic time series published in the time series databases.

In recent years, there have been increased demands for data providers to provide more microdata for research purposes. This is because only by using these individual data it is possible to accurately reflect the heterogeneity of the relevant observation units in academic studies and a causal analysis can be performed. Due to legal requirements, individual data cannot be made generally available. However, these data are made available under strict conditions and for clearly defined academic research purposes at the Bundesbank's Research Data and Service Centre (RDSC).
