The foreign status of non-banks shows all claims and liabilities of non-banks vis-à-vis foreigners arising from financial operations, transactions in goods and services, and derivative financial instruments on a monthly basis broken down by countries, currencies and maturities. Special attention is paid on whether a foreign enterprise is affiliated and what type of participating interest exist. The database is available from June 2000.

The  AUSTANB is split into two modules, which are jointly provided.

• Module 1: Monthly Z5/Z5a reports (from June 2000)
• Module 2: Quarterly Z5b reports (from Q1 2014)

Units worth protecting

The reporting enterprises must be protected, which are contained in the variable “AWMUSID”.
