Application procedure

Application

Please apply online by clicking on the registration button in the course description. Should you encounter any problems applying online, please get in touch with our contact persons. Please note the deadline for application as applications received after this date cannot generally be considered. The questionnaire also serves as a criterion for selecting suitable participants.

Invitation letter

The official letters of invitation are e-mailed to the participants approximately four weeks before the course begins. Any further correspondence will conducted directly with the participants. Unfortunately we are unable to confirm acceptance in advance. Please refrain from making any queries in this regard.

Please note that there are only a limited number of places on our courses. If you have applied for one of the courses but cannot take part after all, please inform us in good time so that another applicant can take your place.

Visa

Participants requiring a visa to enter Germany are requested to contact the relevant German embassy in good time.

Number of participants

20 places are available for each course. For this reason, as a rule, only one person per country may be invited, unless the course description expressly indicates otherwise. In many cases, the number of applications exceeds the number of places available. In these cases, a selection will be made on the basis of the questionnaires which the applicants sent back.

Costs

Participation in the courses is free of charge for all participants. Participants from ESCB countries bear their own accommodation costs, while the Bundesbank provides accommodation for all others for the duration of the course as well as for the days of arrival and departure. It is generally not possible for participants to extend their stay. Under no circumstances can the Bundesbank provide accommodation for family members or other accompanying persons. Unfortunately, no exceptions can be made.

Participants will be given lunch at the Bundesbank for the duration of their stay. The Bundesbank will also cover all the costs of the social events which are planned as part of the programme.

The Bundesbank has purchased health insurance which will cover the costs of any necessary emergency treatment.

The Bundesbank does not generally cover the costs of travel to and from the Bundesbank.

Courses language

All courses are held in English. The participants are expected to have a clear command of the English language. The Bundesbank does not provide translation services.

Venue and accommodation

Participants can stay at the guest apartments of the Bundesbank or in a nearby hotel. Participants from ESCB countries are responsible for organising their own accommodation.

Dress code

Normal business attire is recommended for attending the course.

Length of the courses

As a rule, they will begin at 9.00 and finish 16.00 and 17.00 on the other days. The participants are expected to attend all of the functions and to not have any other engagements while the courses are being held.
