The Bundesbank offers work placements to students to aid in the choice of professional career. Only one work placement at the Bundesbank can be completed for each degree level you are doing (bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or doctorate). Your application should therefore clearly indicate what degree level you are doing and whether you have already completed a work placement at our institution.
In addition, we offer a very limited number of work placements for school pupils.
Please do not submit unsolicited applications if you cannot find a suitable job advertisement on our job opportunities page.

Please apply using our online application form at least four months before your intended start date. Your letter should indicate your desired work placement period. Please ensure that your documents are complete and legible and attach study regulations if your work placement is mandatory.

Yes; however, this is usually only for the elective stage. If you would like to complete the administrative part of your traineeship at the Bundesbank, please check with your examination or training authority beforehand whether it would accept a work placement at the Bundesbank for this stage.
The Bundesbank is part of the “Fair Company” initiative, which means that employing you under fair conditions is important to us. This means, amongst other things, ensuring that your work placement supports you in choosing your professional career and that you receive an adequate, attractive remuneration.
To allow as many people as possible to complete a work placement with us, students can only be allocated one placement per degree level. Student work placements last up to three months (bachelor students) or up to six months (master students) and are remunerated as follows: Students who do not yet hold a bachelor’s degree receive €1,000 per month (gross, full-time). Students who already have a bachelor’s degree at the start of the work placement or who acquire it during the work placement receive a monthly remuneration of €2,200 (gross, full-time).
