The number of card payments has continued to grow steadily since the end of the pandemic. In 2023, it rose by almost 16 % on the previous year to 11.8 billion transactions.

Im zweiten Halbjahr 2023 erhöhte sich die Gesamtzahl bargeldloser Zahlungsvorgänge im Euroraum um 6,6 % auf 71,2 Milliarden im Vergleich zum zweiten Halbjahr 2022; der Gesamtwert sank unterdessen um 7,2 % auf 111,4 Billionen €.
