Revision of reports scheduled from the reference month of January 2022 onwards Monthly balance sheet statistics of banks (MFIs) and non-MFI credit institutions and external positions of banks (MFIs) and non-MFI credit institutions
On 22 January 2021, the ECB Governing Council adopted the Regulation on the balance sheet items of credit institutions and of the monetary financial institutions sector (ECB/2021/2). This recast version of the Regulation concerning the balance sheet of the monetary financial institutions sector (ECB/2013/33) was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 3 March 2021.
Accompanying Bundesbank Ordinances No 8005/2021 on the monthly balance sheet statistics of banks (MFIs) and non-MFI credit institutions (BISTA) and No 8006/2021 on the external positions of banks (MFIs) and non-MFI credit institutions (AUSTA) were adopted by the Executive Board of the Deutsche Bundesbank on 28 September 2021 and published on the Bundesbank's website on 16 November 2021 and in the Federal Gazette (Bundesanzeiger) on 22 November 2021.

Public consultation
On 10 February 2020, the ECB launched its public consultation on the amendments being made to Regulation ECB/2013/33. The deadline for submitting comments was 13 March 2020.
