(Senior) DLT engineer for EVM-based systems

We regard distributed ledger technology (DLT) as a key component of the digital systems of the near future. We are looking for a committed DLT (architecture) engineer for Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) systems to join our new DLT team.

 

Valuable work: your role with us

  • As a DLT engineer, you will be responsible for building, integrating and operating a DLT platform in cloud environments (private, hybrid and public).
  • You will ensure that the platform is designed in such a way that it is scalable, resilient, secure and interoperable with other systems. Your tasks will be centred on the design, integration and maintenance of the DLT platform. In performing these tasks, you will shape the infrastructure of our DLT solutions by utilising your profound understanding of system architecture and network protocols.
  • Your main tasks:
    • Technical development of a robust EVM-based DLT architecture: Focusing on cross-chain interoperability and working closely with internal and external stakeholders of the Deutsche Bundesbank, you will create and implement a scalable and resilient DLT architecture that can be seamlessly integrated into existing IT infrastructures.
    • Security practices for DLT systems: You will apply tried and tested security methods to identify and model critical attack vectors in test environments.
    • You will work with security experts on a regular basis in order to ensure the ongoing security of these systems.
    • Development in DLT innovations: You actively inform yourself about the latest developments in the DLT industry and initiate training measures for yourself and your colleagues.

Unique assets: your skills and qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in a field relevant to the position (e.g. computer science, software engineering)
  • Several years of experience in building resilient distributed systems with a profound understanding of system design concepts and architecture
  • Several years’ experience in the development and provision of EVM architecture
  • Very sound knowledge of Solidity or other related EVM programming languages such as Golang, Rust, Python, TypeScript, Java, JavaScript/Node.js, C++
  • Experience with web applications/services and backend API concepts
  • Basic knowledge of DevOps; experience with DevSecOps is a plus
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and LLVM compilers is a plus
  • Knowledge of Web3 concepts such as tokenisation, custody, data indexers, dApps, cross-chain bridging, rollups with ZKP cryptography or confidential computing
  • Experience in contributing to open source projects is a plus
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and LLVM compilers is a plus
  • Experience in executing projects spanning multiple months, including direct communication with stakeholders and partners about progress, dependencies and risk limitation
  • Willingness and suitability to take business trips (scheduled)
  • Ability to work in a team in an agile environment; ability to prepare information tailored to stakeholders from different areas and with different levels of competence
  • Good command of spoken and written German, very good command of spoken and written English; at least a basic command of German and willingness to improve these skills further

Remuneration and prospects

Remuneration in line with the wage agreement for the public sector (Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst – TVöD) (around €66,500 to €89,000, depending on your level of experience), bonuses for exceptional performance, international working environment, varied tasks, opportunity to maintain existing civil servant status (up to A 15), extensive range of training opportunities
