Career opportunities for candidates who (only) speak English

The Bundesbank’s Research Centre is constantly on the lookout for qualified students and academics who would like to work with us on a specific research project as part of an internship or as visiting researchers. An international working environment and a variety of support measures create a pleasant atmosphere for international employees.

What’s more, we regularly advertise jobs that are also open to candidates who only speak English. These jobs are mainly in our Directorates General IT, Markets and Banking Supervision, which are areas of work that predominantly focus on research and analysis, or which are involved in European tasks. We will help you to acquire German language skills.

We provide international applicants hoping to work at the Bundesbank with special support to make living and working in Germany easier. As an institution with international links, we aim to support you as best we can with language courses and all the information you need to get off to a good start. This allows new staff members to start making contacts within a team, become more confident in their language skills and, at the same time, find out how the German employment system works, including the health insurance and residence regulations.

Besides these opportunities for new starters, the Bundesbank also offers traineeships, dual study programmes, training programmes and internships. These require very good German language skills, which must be demonstrated during the selection procedure. The same applies to job vacancies that are not explicitly advertised as being open to those with English-language skills only.
