Extension of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Bank of Vietnam
On Thursday, 13 April 2023, a delegation from the State Bank of Vietnam, headed by Deputy Governor Dr Nguyen Kim Anh and accompanied by representatives from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), paid us a visit to extend the existing MoU and to talk together in detail about issues relating to green finance.
Mr Balz, the Bundesbank Executive Board member responsible for international central bank dialogue, celebrated the MoU’s signing by emphasising the positive and trusting working relationship between the Bundesbank and the State Bank of Vietnam and stressed that there was great pleasure and interest in continuing collaboration between the two institutions.
Arrangements were made for seminars and study visits both at the Bundesbank in Frankfurt and at the State Bank of Vietnam over in Hanoi. Topics such as central bank governance, green finance and digital transformation in the banking sector were singled out as focus areas for the plans.
In his speech, Dr Anh expressed his gratitude for the constructive and fruitful working relationship that has grown between the two central banks over the last few years and spoke of how much he was looking forward to a continuation of this successful cooperation.
The next day saw the Vietnamese delegation head to Hachenburg to visit the Bundesbank’s University of Applied Sciences for talks with Professor Keller and some of the teaching staff.
