Claudia Buch appointed Chair of Irving Fisher Committee
At the All Governors Meeting of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) the appointment of the Vice-President of the Deutsche Bundesbank, Claudia Buch, as Chair of the Irving Fisher Committee on Central Bank Statistics (IFC). With effect from 12 September 2016 she will take on the position for an initial three-year term.
IFC members include central banks as well as international and regional organisations work-ing in the field of monetary policy. The Committee operates under the auspices of the BIS and sees itself as a forum for central bankers, statisticians and policymakers.
Based in Basel, the BIS is the world's oldest international financial institution, fostering coop-eration among central banks. The Chairman of the BIS Board of Directors is Bundesbank President Jens Weidmann.
