Bundesbank Executive Board approves Dr Jens Weidmann’s nomination for second term of office
The Bundesbank’s Executive Board has approved the nomination of Dr Jens Weidmann for a second term of office as Bundesbank President. On Tuesday, 5 March 2019, the Executive Board notified the Federal Government that it had no objections to the Federal Cabinet’s nomination. The Executive Board looks forward to continuing to work with Dr Weidmann, who has been President of the Bundesbank since 1 May 2011.
Pursuant to Section 7(3) of the Bundesbank Act (Gesetz über die Deutsche Bundesbank), the Federal Government consults the Bundesbank’s Executive Board as part of the appointment process.
