The organizing committee Prof. Dr. T. Gehrig (Univ. Wien), Dr. T. Pausch (Deutsche Bundesbank) and Prof. Dr. P. Welzel (Univ. Augsburg) invite young academics (Ph.D. students and postdocs) dealing with theoretical or theoretically founded empirical re-search on banks and financial markets to submit a paper or a project outline for presen-tation at the 7th Workshop Banks and Financial Markets taking place October 26th -27th 2017 at the Deutsche Bundesbank Conference Center in Eltville am Rhein. Papers that examine competition between financial intermediaries, the risk taking of individual banks, the stability of the financial sector and its regulation are of particular interest.

The workshop aims at linking young economists interested in related topics. It provides a platform to exchange ideas and discuss recent contributions. Presentations, assigned comments and general discussions create an inspiring setting.
