The "carpet" concept is defined by a number of mainly smallish buildings of one to six floors, which are located on both the north and south sides of the main building. The character of the squares and courtyards between the buildings varies between urban and park-like. A day care centre is positioned in the north-east corner of the campus next to the Money Museum. A logistics centre, a press centre and sports facilities are situated along Wilhelm-Epstein-Strasse, outside the security area. All parking facilities are housed within a three-storey underground garage. This concept, with a number of mostly low building units, calls for a comparatively high degree of sealing.
