On Tuesday, 3 June, Dr hc Rudolf Böhmler submitted to the President of the Federal Republic of Germany his request to be released from his duties as member of the Executive Board of the Deutsche Bundesbank with effect from the end of 2014. 

The Executive Board of the Deutsche Bundesbank has approved Dr Böhmler’s request to step down before his term in office expires. 

Dr Böhmler, who has served on the Executive Board of the Deutsche Bundesbank since July 2007, celebrated 50 years of public sector service in March of this year. He turns 69 at the start of January 2015.
